WEATHER FORECAST
MAINLY FAIR TO FINE The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the Southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— An anti-cycloue still covers New Zealand and the Tasman Sea, but has decreased in intensity. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, with, westerlies predominating. Weather for the most part fair to fine, and milder; but some showers probable in coastal areas. Seas slight to moderate. SLIGHT FROST LAST NIGHT. Following the colder temperature of late yesterday afternoon, one degree of frost was felt last night. The highest temperature yesterday was 48deg and the lowest 38deg, but slightly warmer conditions were experienced to-day, and at noon the maximum temperature was 48.5 deg, while the minimum reading had not dropped below 41deg. There was an absence of wind this morning, and a bright sun was shining from a cloudless sky. There has not been any rain for eight days,. The barometer was falling at 29.9 in.
