DE GAN 3 BEATS REEVE [Per limited Press Association-.] INVERCARGILL, May 27. In a professional contest to-niglit, Roy do Gans (11.13), of America, defeated Harold Reeve (11.7), of Mastorton, light-heavy-weight champion of New Zealand, on a technical knock-out in the eighth round. Do Gans won every round, and had Reeve more or less helpless in the eighth, although still on his feet, when the referee stopped the light. This was Reeve’s first loss as a professional in eight lights. He was outclassed in every department, and took much punishment. The Civic Theatre, where the contest took place, was crowded. WRESTLING DRAWN CONTEST [Per United Press Association.] WANGANUI, May 27. In the hardest contest seen in Wanganui this season Boesch and Woods drew. Boesch gained a fall in the fourth round with well-judged drop kicks followed up with a body press. Woods wrestled gamely for {ho remainder of the bout, and secured the equalising fall in the seventh round after applying a barred toe hold on the leg, which Boesch injured in his match with Blonifield earlier in the week. The decision was a popular one.
