The Prime Minister, Nahas Pasha, read the Speech from the Throne at the opening of Parliament. He announced that Anglo-Egyptian conversations were proceeding with serenity and cordiality, and hoped that they would produce an honourable agreement, embodying _ Egyptian independence and tightening up Anglo-Egyp-tian friendship and alliance.
