KING—MURDOCH. A very pretty wedding took place at C p.m. on May .12 at Holy Trinity Church, Gore, when Mary Margaret, second daughter of Mrs M. Murdoch, of Gore, was married to Howard Wilson, elder son of Mr and Mi's G. 11. King, of Roslyn, Dunedin, The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Rowell, the church being very artistically decorated for the occasion with masses of greenery and gold chrysanthemums, The bride, who was escorted by Mr J. Ray, wore a lovely gown of pale gold lame, cut on long, graceful lines, flowing into a train. The cowl neckline was outlined with a plait of gold cord, and the waistline was marked by a gold girdle. She wore a veil of filmy tulle to match her gown, attached to a close-fitting cap of gold flowers, and carried a shower bouquet of roses and chrysanthemums to tone. She was attended by a matron of honour (Mrs L. Stevens, of Dunedin), and her bridesmaid was Miss Gwen Ferguson, of Gore. The former wore a gown of green velvet and the latter pink velvet, cut on slim-fitting lines, with slight trains, and finished with sashes to tone. On their heads they wore halos of velvet, and carried dainty bouquets. The group was completed by a little flowergirl, Rhoda Butterfield, whose befrilled frock of spotted lemon net was finished by a Victorian posy of toning flowers. The best man was Mr W. N. Reid, and the groomsman Mr J. Lucas, both of Dunedin, while the usher was Mr W. F. Chatterton, of Gore. A reception was held later at the Cosy Lounge, where some 70 guests wore received by Mrs Murdock, assisted by Mrs King. The former wore a handsome gown of hlack-and-gold embossed lame, witli a black hat featuring a touch of , gold; and the latter a gown of wineberry angel skin lace and a hat of wine velour. For travelling the bride wore a navy model frock, with collar and belt of silver lame under a musquash coat. The future homo of Mr and Mrs H. W. King will be in Waimate. BRIGGS—ANDERSON. Caversham Presbyterian Church was the scene of an interesting wedding on Tuesday evening, May 12, when Phyllis Fulton, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Anderson, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Charles Walter, second son of the late Mr E. R. Briggs and Mrs Briggs, of Caversham. Owing to the popularity of both bride and bridegroom the church was crowded to the doors. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. 0. M. Sullivan. In honour of the bride, who has been a choir member for a number of years, the - service--was- fully Dorothy Barron presided at the organ. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride with masses of chrysanthemums and hydrangeas to tone with the flocking of the bridal

party. The bride, who made a charming picture as she entered the church escorted by her father, wore a graceful gown of ivory novelty crepe matalasso made simply with a cowl neckline caught up at either side with orange blossoms. The long full sleeves were cut and latticed from shoulder to wrist, the bodice being softly trimmed with lovely Limerick lace and diamante. Her embroidered veil was held in place by a dainty wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of chrysanthemums and lilies. The matron of honour, Airs C. M. Barnett, wore a handsome Juliet gown of sappiiire blue moire velvet shot with gold, and a dainty headdress of gold lame and net. She carried a shower bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids were Misses Winifred 'Waugh and Wynnio M'Kee, rousing of the bride, who were attired alike in Empire frocks of blue eeria taffetas trimmed with gold lame flowers and sashes. They wore gold shoes to tone, and carried bouquets of chrysanthemums in the same shade Carrying the bride’s train was the bridegroom’s niece, little Cicelv Briggs, who wore a silk net ankle-length frockin the same shade as that of the elder bridesmaid. She wore a dainty tulle and flower headdress with Victorian posy to tone. Mr E. L. Briggs, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best map. and Messrs Don Briggs, Colin F. M'Kee, and Clifford Mmr acted as ushers. During the signing of the register Miss Aloda Paine gave a beautiful rendering of the ‘ Festal Hymn of Judith.’ Following the ceremony a reception and dance wore held at the Strand Salon, where over 130 guests were received by the bride’s mother. Mrs W. Anderson, who wore a smart lace frock in Kenya red trimmed with velvet , and a coatee to match, with a model velour hat in the same shade and a. bouquet to tone. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs E. B, Briggs, who wore a handsome gown of black chiffon velvet. ’relieved with silver lame, smart velvet cape, and black velour hat. She carried a bouquet of red roses. During the evening items were rendered bv Miami Mrs C. M. Barnett. Airs J. Al'Farlane. Afrs Anderson Al'Lintock, Aliases Buth Aloore, Alav Drvdon. Angela Hendry. Tluhv Jenkins. Edna Boy, and Air Stanlcv Alacknv. Later the happy couple loft for the north, the bride wearing a smart Kenya rod wool frock, with velour hat to match and model tweed coat.
