PIPING AND DANCING
A well-attended meeting of the executive of the Piping and Dancing Association, Otago Centre, was held on Monday evening at the Y.M.C.A. rooms, Mr Albert Wheeler (president) being in the chair. The judges of the forthcoming jubilee competitions ,at the Concert Chamber during Show Week were appointed—namely—Piping, Mr Samuel Craig (Palmerston); dancing, Messrs Ross and Thomson (Palmerston). ft was stated that donation* had been received from the Ros* family (Palmerston) £6, Mr W. J, Gerrie (now resident in Christchurch) £2 2s, Mrs Plank £1 Is, Mr Harry Mark (Conical Hills) £l, Scottish Society £2 2s, Gaelic Society £2 2s, Dimed in Burns Club £2 2s, cup and medals from Miss Daphne Allan, medal from Mr Wilson (Duntrooni. cup from Miss Margaret MacMillan, and a shield from the family of the late Mr Roderick MacKcnzjc, also a donation in kind from Johnnie Walker (Kilmarnock). The concert arrangements were left in the hands of Mr Arthur Macdonald and party.
