(Received May 1, at 1.15 p.m.) The ‘Daily Telegraph’s 5 Tokio cor. respondent says: Japan is expected t 4 put a surtax on the imports of Australian wool, making it as dear as South African wool. Business men say that if this occurs Japan is likely to buy from South Africa a third of the amount hitherto bought from Australia. Purchases of wool from New Zealand and wheat from Canada will also be increased.
