REBELLIOUS PRISONERS
lit MEN FINED THE MOUNT EDEN AFFAIR [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 30. Tu batches of four or five the 111 prisoners concerned in the disturbances at Mount Eden Prison on Anzac Day and Tuesday were brought before the visiting justice (Mr F. K. Hunt, SAL) this afternoon and charged with breaches of the regulations. Although all the men entered pleas of guilty, the hearing of the cases occupied about two hours. There were two charges against each ■man. one in respect of Anzac Day and one as the result of the trouble on Tuesdav. All the prisoners were charged with disobeying orders. Each man was fined a small sum on one charge and convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon on the other.
