CORPORATION NOTICES. DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKE GENERAL, HOSPITAL, AND WATER RATES, SANITARY FEE, AND GENERAL DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE RATES IN THE CITY OF DUNEDIN. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that th* Dunedin City Council, pursuant to the powers vested in it by “ The Municipal - Corporations Act, 1933,” and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, will; at a Meeting of the Council to be held at the Town Hall, Dunedin, on MONDAY, the 18th day of May, 1936, at 7.30 p.m , MAKE and LEVY the following RATES and FEE for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1936, and ending on the 31st day of MARCH, 1937—viz.: (a) A GENERAL RATE under Section 77 of “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” of TWO SHILLINGS AND ONE PENNY (2s Id) in the Pound (£> upon the value of the rateable_ property as appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in the City of Dunedin. - (b) A SEPARATE RATE, to be known a*, the HOSPITAL RATE, under the authority of Section 52 of ” The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” of SEVENPENGE (7d) in tho Pound (£) upon the value of the rateable property as appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being ill force in the City of Dunedin. (c) WATER RATES under Section 82 of “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” as follows—that is to say;— In respect of the ordinary supply, Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied, the rateable value of which on the Valuation Roll doe» not exceed £l2 10s, a rate of 10s; exceeds £l2 10s, a rate of 3f per cent, (or NINEPENCE, 9d) in the Pound (£) on such value. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards from any part of the wtaerworks, and upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purpose other than at dwelling houses, a rate of ONE-HALF of the rates above mentioned. (d) A SANITATION FEE under Section 90 of “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933 ” of THIRTY-SEVEN SHILLINGS AND SIXPENCE (37s 6d) per pan for the removal of NIGHT SOIL op all , premises within the City of Dunedin to which such service is given. (e) GENERAL SEWERAGE RATES ia hereunder set forth under ” The Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerag* Act, 1900 ” and Amendments thereof, and in pursuance of a resolution passed by the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board ordering such rates to be made and levied by the Dunedin City Council, viz: — (1) Upon everv SEWERED PROPERTY a rate called the GENERAL SEWER. AGE RATE of ONE SHILLING AND FOURPENCE (Is 4d) in the Pound (£) of the annual rateable value of such property. (2) Upon every UNSEWERED PROPERTY, save such as are mentioned in paragraph three (3) hereof, a rate of EIGHTPENCE (8d) in the Pound (£) of the annual rateable value of such property. (3) Upon every UNSEWERED PROPERTY in the OUTER DRAINAGE AREA a GENERAL DRAINAGE RATE of TWOPENCE (2d) in the Pound (£) of the annual rateable value of such property. The above rates are payable on the rate, able value of each property as appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in the City of Dunedin in one sum in each case on the Ist day of June, 1936. at the office of the Dunedin City Council, Town Hall, Dunedin, and the_additional charge of 10 per cent, provided for by Section 76 of “ The Rating Act, 1925,” will be imposed on all such rate* which shall remain unpaid after the 21st day of December, 1936. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT the Valuation Roll and the Rat* Book are open for inspection by all persons concerned at the Town Hall, Octagon, between the hours of 9 o’clock a.m. and A o’clock p.m. daily, but on Saturdays between the hours of 9 o’clock a.m. and li o’clock noon only.
