FUNERAL IN CAIRO VAST CROWDS WAIL MOURNFULLY Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright CAIRO, April 30. (Received May I, at 10.30 a.m.) The body of King Fuad was brought to the mosque of Elrifai with solemn pomp. It was followed by a three-mile procession of infantry, cavalry, diplomatic representatives, members of Cabinet, and other notables. The coffin was covered by the Egyptian flag, and King Fuad’s sword and decorations were attached to it. Vast crowds wailed mournfully. At Alexandria 10,000 people participated in a funeral procession held simultaneously with the actual funeral at Cairo. Seven people were killed and 20 injured in election riots at the village of Sannawa when opponents ambushed and fired on a band of Wafdists,

ANCIENT FUNERAL CUSTOM CAIRO, April 30. (Received May 1, at 1.40 p.m.) Fifty professional women mourners, garbed and hooded in black, received with a crescendo of wailing the coffin arriving at El Rifai Mosque, which the King had built for his interment. Seven bulk, following a custom dating to the time of the Pharaohs, were slaughtered on the pavement outside the mosque, and the flesh distributed to the poor.

THE NEW XING (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 30. (Received May 1, at 1 p.m.) King Favouk left London this morning by special train on the first stage of his journey to Egypt. The Duke of Kent represented King Edward. An address of condolence on the death of King Fuad will be moved in the House of Commons on Monday. Earlier in the day the young King spent half an hour at Buckingham Palace with King Edward.
