WEATHER FORECAST
COLO AND SQUALLY The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meterological Office, Wellington, covering the Southern districts —Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay: A deep depression is moving eastwards off the central portion of the Dominion. An intense anti-cyclone covers Eastern Australia. Forecast: South-westerly winds of strong to gale force. Weather cold and squally, with passing showers, and hail in places. Seas rough. COLD AND OVERCAST. After cold night temperatures the day in Dunedin was cold and overcast. Although the sun appeared at intervals throughout the morning, the sky was overcast, while drizzling rain appeared for a short time before 11 o’clock. However, the weather cleared around noon, although a cold south-west wind was present, while temperatures were still low. The maximum recording for the dav was oOdeg, while the figure at 9 a.ra." was 4o.ldeg, as compared with the 24-hour figures yesterday of 58.3 deg and 48dsg. the barometer was steady at 29.4 in, while rain recorded overnight was .llin.
