DR ECKENER FORGIVEN
PRESS BAH REMOVED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, April 29. (Received April 30, at noon.) It is understood that the Eckener affair has been settled. The Propaganda Ministry’s order to the Press not to mention Dr Eckener’s name has been withdrawn. Dr Eckener will now carry out his intention of accompanying the Hindenburg on her maiden flight to the United States in May. He objected to doing this while still officially “disgraced,” while the authorities were reluctant to see the flight marred by a political controversy.
