FORBURY SCHOOL

FLOWER AND VEGETABLE SHOW Forbury ‘ School ‘has established a high standard in the past for its annual show,, and this year’s display, in the opinion of ■ the judges, has fully sustained it. The- afternoon session on Thursday was-well patronised by parents J and ' interested friends of the school, who freely expressed their appreciation of the collection of exhibits, while in the evening a crowded hall and keen business assured success. This .year’s wall display of drawings and ■ penmanship was quite distinctive and of outstanding merit, attracting a great deal of attention. • Mr W. V. Miller has supplied the inspiration for this department of the school’s activities, arid he is to be congratulated upon the success of his labours. In the various sections of the show something like 1,000 entries were received, those for the decorative, baking, and sweets sections showing a marked increase over those of late years. This school is extremely fortunate in having a strong body of interested helpers available for its various functions, and to them, and particularly ; the lady supporters, it is deeply indebted.
