Mitsui and Cheerful beat Prince Sion over six furlongs in Imin 17sec. On the steeplechase grass Double Bard covered four furlongs in 48Jsec. Closing Time and Night of Love ran six furlongs in Imin lOJsec. Heroic Prince accounted for a mile in Imin 43Jsec. Gay Sheila did nine furlongs in 2min lisec, Palfresco 10 in 2min 19sec, and Young Idea seven in Imin 38sec, the last four in SOsec. , On ths sand Cuddle, going very well, Covered a mile in Imin 43Jsec. On the cinders Remittent and Prince Quex went three furlongs in 38sec, and Lady Primrose four in 50Jsec. K. Voitre will ride ,Valiant Chief in the Newmarket Handicap and Bunsby Gaze in the Australian Cup. Arachne, Cardinal, and Allunga are suffering from minor complaints, but, their connections are hopeful regarding their autumn programmes. Hall Mark had a muscle soreness some weeks, and efforts are being made to prepare the horse for the Sydney Easetr meetings. There is a possibility he will not race again.
