NATIONAL WORKERS' MOVEMENT
The executive of the Dunedin Central branch of the National Unemployed Workers’ Movement held its meeting last evening. Mr G. Maitland presided. Correspondence was received from the Minister of Employment (Hon. H. T. Armstrong), Labour Bureau, general secretary of the N.U.W.M., the secretary of Australian seamen, and various _ other organisations. Important remits were sent for-' ward to the general meeting to be endorsed. The secretary intimated that Dr M’Millan. M.P., would not te able to attend the meeting on Tuesday to deliver an address, but would do so in the near future. The organising report was received and considered .satisfactory, 42 new members having joined up since last meeting. A few groups had been visited, and the secretary agreed to visit the Bethune s Gully job as requested this week. A number of complaints were received and left in the secretary’s hands.
