HIGHEST PRICES OF SEASON . There was a decided improvement on last week’s prices at to-day’s sale 'at Burnside. Exporters were operating, on further increases, and prices were the highest of the season, the actual increase ranging from Is to 2s, Lambs again came forward well, 1,700 being penned. The quality generally was good, hut a number of the pens were not finished, due, obviously, to the effect of the dry weather. The top price for fat cattle was £ll 17s 6d for a nice consignment offered on account of Mr Thomas Soper, of Clydevale. Other good drafts from Southland fetched from £lO to £ll. Because of the dry weather competition was slack, prices being lower than last week’s sale by at least IQs per head.
