ANNUAL CONFERENCE OPENS [Per United Press Association.] CHATEAU TONGARIRO, January 28. The thirteenth annual conference of the New Zealand Master Grocers’ Federation was opened at the Chateau Tongariro. Mr C. M Croft, the Canadian Trade Commissioner, addressed the conference on the subject, ‘ Canada as a Commercial Country.’ The roll-call disclose 4 representatives of all parts of the Dominion. Mr Eric Gray, of Kaiapoi, was elected president. Last evening, Mr Croft screened films depicting Canada, which were received with much enthusiasm. This morning Mr Croft addressed the conference on the subject of ‘ Massed Buying.’
