FDUR-WEEKLY ANALYSIS INCREASES IN REVENUE [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 27. The General Manager of Railways, Mr G. H. Mackley, announced on behalf of the Government Railways Board the financial results of the railway working for the four-weekly period ended January 4, as follows; — Gross revenue, £598,203 —an increase of £33,135 as compared with the corresponding period of last year. Expenditure, £429,866 —an increase of £26,395 over last year, ihe figures include the increased expenditure involved in the 7* per cent, increase in salaries and wages. For the 10 four-weekly periods of the current financial year up to January 4 the total revenue was £5,027,625, as against £4,775,908 for the same period last year, making an increase of £-51,718 in the revenue account. The working expenses for the financial year to date total £4,427,906, compared with £4,205,152, an increase of £222 754. After absorbing tlie expenditure due to the increase in salaries and wages the net revenue to date compared with last year shows an increase of £28,964.
