NEW APPOINTEE FOR NEW ZEALAND DR DESSOULES ARRIVES IN SYDNEY Prcis Association —By Telegraph —Copyright SYDNEY, January 27. (Received January 28, at 2 p.m.) Dr Mario Dessoules, the newly-ap-pointed Italian Consul for New Zealand, who arrived by the Romolo yesterday, said Italy was undergoing a complete economic transformation, with total independence as the ultimate goal. “ Italy now has 44,000,000 people united as one behind Signor Mussolini, and ready to die for him and their country,” he said. “ They are standing four-square behind him in the face of the greatest injustice ever done to a nation—the sanctions.”
Ho added that the world’s Press had the grave responsibility of giving to the public the truth in all things, but he feared that in its treatment of the Abyssinian situation it had failed to discharge its duty.
