CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED RAIDS The following weather forecast tm issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south* ern district —Dunedin, Port Chalmers* Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, River* ton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:—* A rather shallow depression is moving on to the South Island. Forecast Moderate to fresh northerly winds,backing shortly to the south-west; weather mainly cloudy to with scattered rains, more especially! on and near the coast. Seas slight toi moderate on the east coast, and! moderate to rather rough on the south* FINE, BUT WINDY. Bright sunshine prevailed through* out the week-end, the weather being} warm. Saturday afternoon was glori*i ously hot, and the weather broke finer yesterday, though towards evening a| slight breeze sprang up. The sung shone brightly again this morning, but#; a light northerly breeze appeared about# midday. At noon to-day the baro-i meter was falling, the reading being* 30. Tin. The temperatures, were 74des and 68.5 deg to-day. 71deg and 50.3dea yesterday, and 73.8de<r and 53deg on? Saturday. -
