REPERCUSSION IN NEW ZEALAND VESSEL DECLARED BLACK [Per United Press Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, January 25. Declaring the vessel to be black because it was manned by a crew under a license granted by the Australian Government, the New Plymouth waterside workers declined to unload the intercolonial steam Gabriella when a call was made for labour this morning. The vessel is being slowly unloaded by one small gang of volunteer workmen. The unionists are not hostile, and are watching the volunteers good-humour-edly.
It is understood that the move was not made by the direction of Dominion headquarters, but is one to uphold general union principles. The Gahrieella has coal and general cargo.
