MYSTERY OF THE SEA
END GF THE PARI KG A FIRE OR EXPLOSION SUGGESTED Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, January 10. (Received January 10, at 11.15 a.m.) A report that fire occurred in the bunkers of the Paringa several days before she left on her last voyage suggests that the vessel may have foundered in heavy seas after a fire or explosion in her bunkers. The report of five is confirmed by the four Chinese seamen from the Vincas. It is established that the Paringa cast off the derelict Vincas on Christmas day, 31 hours before she spoke by wireless to the raotorsbip Hauraki.
