DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE No sales were effected at the call-over of the Dunedin Stock Exchange this morning, but the market was firm, with a tendency to improve. In tho banking section buyers for the Bank of New Zealand shares improved, the limits for tho sellers remaining firm at 48s. Commercials retained their recent improvement. Union Banks were also firm. In the insurance section there was little activity. P. and O. Deferred Stock were improved, an ■ inquiry from buyers at 25s failing to attract a seller. In the mining section there was awakened interest for Broken Hill Proprietary shares, but no sellers were quoted. Mount Morgans were ex dividend, the market closing at 37s to 38s. Local gold mining was practically neglected, and except for Big Rivers there were no gains or losses to report. Sellers for Now Zealand Brewery shares quoted at £2 14s 6d, but buyers 'were 9d away. There was no activity in the New Zealand Government tax-free loans, and no business was reported in the taxable shares.
