Scouler match. The other semi-final was played last evening. Sime, .who Was playing with the greater confidence, had a com-* / fortable win, but Scouler nearly made a fighting finish at the sixteenth, when a great explosion shot from the bunker, narrowly missed finding the cup. His second stopped 4ft from the pin, while Siine’s was .in the rough, and he came to light with , a confident putt. Both were in the long grass through slightly hooked shots at the Creek, where Scouler lost , a chance by an indifferent mashie shot. This - hole and .. the - twelfth were halved, but once again Scouler’s putting let him down, at, Old. Nick, where Sime was 4 up. The leader’s approach and putting at Sea View werO poor,; and Scouler took the hole, leaving him 3 down, with 4 to play. , Bogey 3’s saw the fifteenth halved, and the game ended at the next hole; Sime was through, the green with his. second,; and Scouler’s iron found the sand bunker. Boock were level, but the former then ran t» a lead of 2, when Boock missed easy putts. The match was keenly contested to the , finish. The Taieri; player, W. Goughian, looked a winner at the last hole, where Wilson, was bunkered, but three putts cost him the match. The sixteen-year-old High School boy, A.
