DEPARTMENT'S AUGMENTED TIMETABLE Mail, express, and relief train arrangements for the Christmas and New Year holidays are announced by the Railway Department as follows The daily running of the ordinary mail and express trains between Invercargill, Dunedin, and Christchurch commences on Thursday, December 19, and will continue up to and including Monday, February 3. The 5.30 p.m. Dunedm-Invercargill Sunday passenger train and the 6.40 p.m. Invercargill-Christchurch, depart* ing from Dunedin at 11.20 p.m., and the 11.2 p.m. Christchurch-Dunedm Sunday night express trains will run as usual. Relief mail and express trains will run as follow: —

On Friday, December 20, a relief express train, leaves Dunedin for Christchurch. at 10.47 a.xn., and relief train from Christchurch arrives at Dunedin at 5.1 p.m. On Saturday, December 21. a relief express train leaves Dunedin for Christchurch at 10.47 a.m., and a relief train from Christchurch arrives at Dunedin at 5.1 p.m. A relief express also leaves Dunedin at 1.35 p.m. for Invercargill. On Sunday, December 22, the 7 a.m. Invercargill-Lyttelton express train will run to Christchurch only, and the 5.35 a.m. Christchurch-lnvercargill express train will also run. On Monday, December 23, relief express trains ‘leave Dunedin-for Christchurch at 10.47 a.m. and 11.20 p.m., and a relief train arrives from Christchurch at 5.1 p.m, and a night train at 6.53 a.m. on December 24. On December 23, 24, and 25, and January 2,3, 4, and 6 t the Usual 8.33 a.m. Dunedin-Invefcargill and the 1.45 p.m. Invercargill-Dunedin mail trains will run to and from Gore only. On these dates a relief express train for Invercargill leaves Dunedin at 9 a.m. and a relief express train for Dunedin leaves Invercargill at 2.5 p.m., arriving at Dunedin at 6.53 p.m. On Tuesday, December 24, relief express trains from Invercargill for Christchurch leave Dunedin at 9.5 a.m., 10 p.m.. and 11.20 p.m.. A relief train from Christchurch arrives at Dunedin at's.l p.m., and night trains from Christchurch will arrive at Dunedin at 6 a.m. and 6.53 a.m. on December 25. A relief express leaves Dunedin lor Invercargill at 5.43 p.m., connecting with the express arriving at 5.1 p.m. from Christchurch, and a special express train loaves Invercargill at 6.40 p.m., arriving at Dunedin at 11.3 p.m., and continuing as the 11.20 p.m. train from Dunedin to Christchurch. On Friday and Saturday, January 3 and 4, relief express trains for Christchurch leave Dunedin at 10.47 a.m., and a. relief express train from Christchurch arrives at Dunedin at 5.1 p.m On December 21, 23, 24. and 25 the usual 7.52 a.m. Dunedin-Cromweli train will run as a fast passenger,' arriving at Cromwell at 4.15 p.m. on December 21, and at 3.55 p.m. on December 23, 24, and 25. On December 23, 24, and 25 a special train, stopping at all stations, will leave Dunedin for Cromwell at 8.20 a.m.
