Fences and verandahs are down in all directions. Houses were unroofed, tanks and outhouses blown over, trees uprooted, and telephone poles crashed. The air was filled with .flying timber and corrugated iron. The townspeople were terror stricken. Vivid lightning and hail followed. Other parts of the Riverina suffered. A man was killed by a falling tree. The damage to crops is very heavy.
