ST. KILDA MUNICIPAL BAND
A meeting of the Appeal Executive Committee was held last evening. Arrangements for the street collection on Friday next were concluded. Encouraging support and assistance have been offered by other bands. The Dunedin Highland Pipe Band, which is participating in the appeal, will staff a stand at the Stock Exchange, and render a programme of national music in conjunction with the St. Hilda Band at the Octagon during the evening. St. Hilda’s old rivals, the Kaikorai Band, will staff a stand at the Octagon, north side, and assist in taking up the collection during the evening concert. The Salvation Army, Y.W.C.A., _ Girl Guides, members of Scottish societies, churches, and ; other social service organisations, will assist during tile day, and it is confidently anticipated that the citizens will generously respond towards the band’s efforts and object.
