SURF REPORT
BATHERS MUST EXERCISE CARE Although the weather during the last week or so has not been altogether conducive to surf bathing, there has been an increasing number of persons patronising the beaches in and around Dunedin. The southerly winds that have been experienced have swept the beach at St. Clair, but with the change to a north-easterly it may be expected that before long the beach will again be well covered with sand. Although the water is still rather chilly, it is gradually improving. Bathers at St. Clair are warned of a deep channel off shore, and non-swim-mers particularly are warned not to venture out too far. All bathers are warned to keep between the flags. There is rather a rip off shore at St. Kilda, but the beach is fairly safe at present, and is in good order. The beach at Tomahawk is in good order. The wafer is smooth, but still rather cold.
