ACTION AND THRILLS
EXCITING • CAR 99 • FOR EMPIRE 'Car 99,’ the film booked for release on Friday at the Empire Theatre, is a fast-moving story of the radio-patrol. Action and thrills are expertly blended to make an enjoyable film. The exciting story centres round a notorious gang of bank robbers, known as the Five Aces. A young patrolman, Ross Martin, accidentally stumbles upon two members of the gang, and arrests them, but they trick him and escape. Three days later the State police radio station is put out of commission and the local bank robbed. Martin, who lias been, suspended from the force pending trial for his carelessness, takes matters into his hands, and the resulting thrilling chase forms the exciting climax. Sir Guy Standing, recently seen in the unforgettable ‘Lives of a Bengal Lancer,’ beads the cast.
