NEW PLYMOUTH SESSIONS [Per United Press Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, August 12. The Supreme Court sessions were opened this morning, the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, presiding. In his charge to the grand jury His Honour remarked that there were three bills for consideration, and only one was likely to give difficulty. True bills were returned against David Vincent Iloguski for alleged manslaughter, Edgar Robert Marshall, alleged bigamy, and Laurence Vanhain Bound, alleged unlawful carnal knowledge. • Marshall and Bound later pleaded guilty, and were remanded till Wednesday for sentence. David Vincent Iloguski, a firewood contractor, was acquitted by the jury on a charge of manslaughter. Tlie indictment was that on April 27 Iloguski left his unlighted motor truck, which could not he moved because the gears had jammed, parked with the rear jutting into the street, thereby causing the death of Stanley Carlyon, a motor cyclist, who collided with the lorry. Iloguski said that when the gears jammed he attempted to move the truck but could not. He fixed a red reflector to the rear of the lorry, but on the wrong side, and went for mechanical assistance. Carl,yon, with a pillion rider, crashed into the rear of the lorry, and died on the way to the hospital. The jury returned to the court and stated that it felt that a manslaughter charge was too severe, and-asked if the charge could be reduced. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) said it could not. The jury retired, but returned almost immediately with a verdict of not guilty.
