CONTRACT BRIDGE MATCH
A dpulicatc contract bridge match was played between a team of Dunedin players consisting, of Messrs J. H. Fulton, B. Wilson, R. W. Mathieson, and Dr H. Finlay and a selected team from the Crockford Bridge Club at Christchurch on Saturday last._ The match was played in three sessions of 24 hands each during the afternoon and evening. After a keen struggle the Dunedin team won by 760 points. The respective scores of the two sides were: Dunedin 23,210, and Christchurch 22,450. The match was most interesting in every way, and was watched by * large number of spectators. The Crockford Club hopes to be able to play a return match in Dunedin at an early date. This club has about 200 men and women players. It has several rooms well fitted and containing a large number of tables, and has every convenience for bridge play in comfort. Thera is a movement to have a similar club formed here.
