OLD BOYS' REUNION The fifth annual reunion dinner of the Dunedin branch of the Christchurch High School Old Boys’ Association was held on Wednesday evening in the Tudor Lounge, Savoy. Dr S. B. Strain (vice-president), in the absence of the president (Mr T. J. L. Rantin), acted as chairman. There was a good attendance of members, and \ very enjoyable evening was spent. The Chairman, in his opening remarks, referred to the death or Mrs Sevan-Brown, wife of the late head master, and to the death of Dr F. Bevan-Brown, a son. The members, as a mark of esteem, stood in silence for a few moments. Dr Strain apologised for the absence of Mr Rantiu ; who was unable to attend owing to illness. Telegrams from Christchurch were then read giving the result of tb* School-Christ’s College football match played that day, resulting in a win for the School by 14 points to 5. The following was the toast list: — “ The King,” proposed by Dr S. B. Strain; “ The School and Head Master,” proposed by Dr C. S._ Murray and responded to by Mr Clive J. Wood; “ Kindred Associations and Our Visitors,” proposed by Mr W. F. Alexander and responded to by Mr F. M. Nancarrow (Christ’s College), Mr L. A. Rhodes (Otago Boys’ High School), Mr N. ¥.' A. Wales (Waitaki Boys’ High School), and Mr R. Mathieson (Tmiaru Boys’ High School); “ School Atffletics and Sport,” proposed by Mr K. A. Dixon and responded to by Mr W. Wood.

Prior to the dinner the election of office-bearers for the ensuing year took place, and the following officers were elected: —President, Mr L. H. Beardsley; vice-presidents, Mr T. J. L. Rantin and Dr C. S. Murray: committee—Messrs Clive J. Wood, M. Skipworth, and K. A. Dixon; hon. secretary and 1 treasurer, Mr F. W. M'Cullough. During the evening- community singing was indulged in and received spirited support, while items contributed by Messrs L. J. Dunbar and R. M. Campbell were much appreciated. Mr R. AV. D. Maxwell was nominated for membership and duly elected. 1
