SELWYN COLLEGE

CLERICAL SUB-WARDEN APPOINTED Consequent upon Archdeacon Whitehead becoming vicar of All Saints’ parish, Dunedin, part of his duties as warden of Selwyn College has been placed on other shoulders. The Rev. Raymond Newcombe, M.A., has been appointed clerical sub-warden. He is at present vicar of Hari-Hari, Westland, in the Diocese of Christchurch. Mr Newcombe is a New Zealander by birth, but has had valuable experience as a clergyman in England. He is expected to take up his duties in. Dunedin oh the first of October next. The Bishop of Christchurch, in taking farewell of Mr Newcombe in his diocesan magazine, says that “ he has done a remarkable work on the Coast and has endeared himself to the people by his Christ-like ministry. He has worthily maintained the high tradition of the adventurous clergy who have ministered in the parish of Ross.”
