BOARD OF DIRECTORS A well-attended meeting of the Board of Directors of the Young Women’s Christian Association was presided over by Mrs C. M. Begg. Mrs Fisher* wrote accepting the board’s request to resume representation of the association on the Dunedin •Women’s Unemployment Committee, Much time was spent in discussing the forthcoming Jubilee Year Fair, some very charming knitted wear and other articles being exhibited, as well as posters, in preparation for the decorations, which promised to bo a very interesting feature. It was reported that Miss Downie Stewart had agreed to open the fair, which was using the theme of the King’s Jubilee as a setting. Arrangements were made for the annual meeting to be held in September. A. Nominations Committee was set up, and a sub-committee to deal with the programme of birthday celebrations to be held in conjunction with the business meeting was appointed. Renovations recommended for the hostel dining x-oom were reported on and passed to he proceeded with, while the Membership Committee’s recommendation that an “ at home ” be arranged for Miss Jean Stevenson in August was also adopted. Some discussion arose on the questionnaire sent out by the sub-committee of the National Council of Women on the status of the domestic worker, and three members were appointed to carry the matter further and get the number of replies required. Departmental reports were read by the secretaries, showing progressive activity throughout all branches of the association.
