TENEMENT SCHEME SUGGESTION
In the course of an address to the Town Rlaii.uiig Branch of the Otago institute on iuesday evening Mr A, L. Salmond advocated the clearance of slum areas and the erection of tenement buddings on the lines at present being followed in England and Europe. The above photograph shows a model of such an area. The site is free from .streets, utilising all undeveloped space for paik and recreational purposes. The two lower illustrations indicate the type of architecture, giving sunlight free access to all njoms and exterior areas.
