ESCAPED PRISONERS
RECAPTURE STILL EVADED [Pen United Phess Association. 1 AUCKLAND, June 28. The two prisoners who escaped from custody this month have so far evaded recapture. The missing men are Edgar Arthur Petersen, aged 27, and William Brewer, aged 51, a labourer, the door of the luiv in which he had been locked up for the night at Rangipo Prison Camp, near Tokaanu, was removed bodily by Peterson on Wednesday night. It is believed he had succeeded in secreting some instruinent in his hut, and as soon as he had been locked in be set to work to cut away the wood from round the hinges, thus removing the door. The other fugitive, Brewer, jumped from a train near .Tiuntly on June 1 when on Ids way from New Plymouth to Mount Eden Prison in the custody of a warder.
