WAY WITH PEDESTRIANS
VIENNA’S ONE-MINUTE JUSTICE VIENNA, April 27. The Vienna pedestrian is to be taught stern discipline. Among new street offences for which he will be fined on the spot on the “ one-min-ute justice ” principle are:— 1. Crossing the street outside the marked area. 2. Standing too long in the street waiting for a tram car.' 3. Failing to keep to the left or the pavement where this is required. As a further part of the drive against what is called “ the undisciplined behaviour of the Vienna pedestrian ” the police are going to start “ schools for pedestrians ” at certain busy crossings, and .to set out at an exhibition, now being held for the avoidance of street accidents an_ artificial crossing at which schoolchildren will be disciplined into their duty towards busy motorists. ,
