ST. KILDA ELECTIONS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Where do we stand in St. Kilda? The situation seems to be very complicated. We have a Labour mayor, Mr A. D. Edgar, _ defending his seat against the official Labour candidate, Cr Morrison, Cr Longworth, and ex-Cr Leary. The question arises, who is the Labour candidate? Messrs Edgar and Morrison are both members of the Labour Party, and it is only a few months ago since Mr Beattie, ex-mayor, and Crs Leary, Baird, Robinson, and Glue were ousted from their seats by Cr Morrison and Co. in order to place Cr A. D. Edgar in the chair. What has _Mr Edgar done to deserve this stab in the back by the Labour Party? Cr Morrison and his supporters on the council revoked on ex-Cr Leary and now appear to be handing Cr Edgar the same medicine. Cr Morrison has apparently used the whip in the Labour Party to secure his nomination, but I fear he will find that the St. Kilda electors will not stand for his methods. —I am, etc., True Labour. April 12.
