GAY MUSICAL PRODUCTION
ENTERTAINING FILM FOR EMPIRE Romance, adventure, comedy, music, song, and dance are delightfully blended in “ Trans-Atlantic Merry-Go-Round,’ which will commence at the Empire on Friday. An excellent cast of screen and radio stars is seen in this novel production. Jack Benny is the genial master of ceremonies, broadcasting his radio programmes from n palatial ocean liner plying between New York and Europe, aboard which the entire action of the story lakes place. Nancy Carroll is delightful as Sally, the star of the performers, and Gene Raymond scores heavily as a young Raffles. The passengers aboard the liner include Sydney Howard, a celebrated English comedian, Sid. Silvers as Raymond’s comic confederate, Sidney Blackmer ns Lee Lother, a scoundrelly Broadway racketeer who is pursuing Sally, Shirley Grey, as a married woman who is infatuated with him, Ralph Morgan as her suspicious husband, and William Boyd as an escaped gunman who is stowing away aboard the liner.
