MORNINGTON CRICKET CLUB PICNIC

The above journeyed to Jubilee Meadows on Sunday last. A team 6f Brockvillo representatives was invited, and a very enjoyable outing was spent. Mr A. Blackwood very generously donated a cup for all-round competition (cricket, Rugby, and Soccer), to be competed for annually. Results were aS follow;—

Cricket.—Brock vi lie compiled 89 runs (Wellmm 31 and W. RitchardS 21). Bowling honours were shared by B. Dow and W. M'Dorinell. MotniitgtOn replied with 75 runs, mainly due to .J. Dun (30), while G. Leith and L. Robinson kept their ends up admirably for 19 and 15 respectively. Stanley took eight Wickets for 51.

Rugby.—Brockville defeated Mornington by 6 points to 3. Tries were scored for the winners by M'Grcgor and W. Wellmm. The losers’ points were mado tip from a penalty by C. Robertson.

Soccer.—Brockville again succeeded by 3 goals to 1. C. Welham securing the hat-trick, Fleming scoring for the losers.

Wei* ham, the opposing captian, who, in thanking the Mornington Club, commented "on the fine sporting spirit shown. Thanks were offered to Messrs ~J. Topping and T. Watkins for the capable manner in which they handled the programme.
