KIWI DEFENSE CLUB The Kiwi Defence Rifle Club fired (he second shoot of the 500yds and 600yds match on Saturday, when twenty-three members took part 'Hie weather was fine, but a wind from the rear was swinging a bit, and made good shooting very hard. The conditions ■were ten shots with two optional sighters at each _ range. Rifleman F. Keane headed the list with 88 off the rifle. The best at 500yds was Rifleman F. The Dunedin Defence Rillo Club slid, the second competition for prizes presented by Captain G. C. Proudfoot, and Mr A. J. Shaw on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of seventeen, and ten shots (two optional sighters) each wore fired at 500yds and 600yds. Weather conditions were fine, but a variable light and rear fishtail breeze required care. Rifleman J. L. Benfell was top at 500yfls, with a fine 49 (eight bull finish). At 600yds Rifleman R. A. Mackin, Captain Cowie, Riflemen J. L. Benfell, W. Facer, and R. G. Graham were highest at 600yds with 42 each. Rifleman .T. L. Benfell beaded the day’s aggregate. with 91.
