The monthly meeting of the NorthEast Valley branch of , the W.C.T.U. was held in the Institute. Miss A. Gray (president) accepting the chair. Mrs' Anstico led the devotions reading from the loth chapter of St. John’s Gospel. She stressed the 18th verse: If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” She said that in our work there were those who hated us. but we must not be discouraged on that account. Mrs Perrill (a delegate to the conferenceV was welcomed. She is President of the Snowdon Union, and Superintendent of the Anti-gambling Department. She gave a very interesting account of the work done at Snowdon. It was agreed to send a letter of congratulation to Mrs Hiette on her appointment to the position of Dominion President. The president expressed regret on behalf of the union at the departure from the Valley of the Rev. Mr Anstice, Mrs Anstice, and their little daughter. Mrs Anstico had been a great help to her and the union and Mr Anstice had on several occasions been speaker at the meetings. They would ail miss Mrs Anstico’s cheery words. Mr Anstice has been called to the Baptist Congregation at LinWoocl. The delegates to the conference (Mrs Green and Mrs Coulter) were thanked for their reports.
