SPARTAK BUMPING TEST
Such important parts of the electrical equipment of a car as tire instrument panel, switch boxes, ammeter, cutouts, regulators, electric horns, etc., arc very susceptible to vibration, which is apt to throw the settings out of adjustment. . In order to obtain data to- enable them to design and manufacture equipment whose performance will be unaffected by the most severe vibration., a leading British manufacturer employs a vibration test. The equipment is clamped to a hinged plate, which can be subjected to from 1,000 to 3,000 bumps per minute—far more severe treatment than could possibly be obtained in service on the worst roads, or even when travelling across rough country. ■
