TO-NIGHT'S BOXING

The professional welter-weight boxing championship of New Zealand will be at stake to-night, when Don Stirling (holder) meets Johnny M‘Kay (challenger) over fifteen three-minute rounds. Stirling won a close points’ decision when the men met last, but it was such a well-contested bout that there were many who did not agree with the verdict, and to-night’s match should settle the question. Both men are fast and willing fighters, and there should be no lack of action to this mill. Both men are powerful punchers, and as Stirling is so well known in Dunedin, where he engaged in many amateur bouts, a good crowd is expected to sec him going to-night. Ho has not been beaten since entering professional ranks. The big bout will be preceded by attractive amateur prefiminerieß.
