WEATHER FORECAST
- MAINLY FINE The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern district—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orcpuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— An anti-cyclone still extends from Eastern Australia across the Tasman. Sea, but is losing its intensity. Forecast : Light to fresh west to south! winds predominating. Weather mainly fair to fine, but some isolated showers probable at times, more especially on the coast. Temperatures cool. Seas moderate. OVERCAST BUT MILD, Sunny weather this morning accounted for still milder temperatures than yesterday, the shade reading at noon being 62deg.. with a minimum for the morning of 60deg. For “the whole of yesterday the temperatures were -a maximum of 58.6 deg. and a minimum of 52.5 deg. To-day, as was the cage yesterday, the sky became overcast toward upon, and the south-westerly wind freshened somewhat. The barometer was steady at 29.9 in. No rain has been recorded since the abatement of the heavy fall early >on Thursday morning.
