mtm STOCK EXCHAHSE Quiet conditions prevailed on the market this morning. Business was reported in Woolworth’s Sydney shares at 87s and in Bendigo Goldlights, which are experiencing a rising market, at Is. Improved offers were made for Bank of New Zealands and long “ D ” shares without revealing a seller. Reserves also continued in good demand. In regard to meat preserving shares, present holders are still prepared to quit at weakened prices in several issues. In the miscellaneous section Bruce Woollen prefs. were for sale at 24;* New Zealand Drugs were firmer, and New Zealand Newspapers were wanted at 30s 6d. Buyers for Mount Lyelis have advanced theri offer Is 3d in a week, and sellers still demand la more. King Solomons were fractionally firmer, and show a gain of about 6d over the past week. Waitahus found inquiry at 2s 3d. but sellers quoted 2s 9d. Buyers dominated the market for Government loans, and all of the 3* per cent, issues had inquiry. SALES.
