AT HOME AT RIVERTON

Dear Brother Bill, Although my holidays were spent at home I had a most wonderful time. Wo live about a mile from the beach, and every day we used to take our lunch and tea and spend the day at The Rocks. We went swimming and went for walks in the bush, or more often we would lie in the sun and would bathe.

One Sunday about twelve of us took a bus and went away into the bush on the slopes of the Longwoods for a picnic, and we had a most wonderful day. It was glorious to walk through the bush and to hear the birds’ song and hear and see Nature all round us. We gathered wild flowers and ferns and mistletoe. But the best part was the boiling of the billy. Gathering sticks for the fire and lighting it in the open was great fun. The sun shone brightly and everyone enjoyed themselves. I do not think there is any more news of interest, so I will close.—With love from Edna M. Girvan.
