ABSENT WITHOUT LEAVE

Harold M'Kenzie, aged 52, a Beaman, James Morrison, aged 51, a oo’fmn, and Joseph Blanche, aged 46, a ship’s carpenter, appeared in court to-day for absenting themselves from the Anglo Canadian without leave, and were remanded in custody with a direction that they should be placed aboard just before the vessel leaves to-morrow. The captain said that the three accused were good men. They absented themselves at Timaru, and the ship sailed without them. He had had them sent through, and they arrived yesterday morning, but went ashore again without leave, and something had to be done about it. He would appreciate it if they could be care of till toinqrrow and sent aboard the ship.:
