KAIKORAI VALLEY ROAD.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —As a witness to the two accidents on Kaikorai Valley road I can say they were caused solely by the narrowness of the road, and I can foresee other and more serious ones happening. Surely such a busy thoroughfare warrants some attention and improvement from those responsible, thus enabling property owners who are desiring to improve their properties ,_to do so. As an alternative* to getting something done I would suggest closing the road altogether, and charging visitors and other interested parties a fee to inspect the ancient relics of Dunedin’s early days. The whole street and its buildings are a disgrace and a perpetual reminder of the lax aud slovenly methods of an obsolete and fossilised council. I would like to prophesy that, in the event of further delay in wiping this blot off Kaikorai’s landscapes a block vote of interested Kaikorai ratepayers will assist in removing one or two responsible councillors. —I am, etc., 1 Push. February 26.
