(Received February 28, at 2 p.m.) Afework Jesus, the Abyssinian Charge d’Affaires, told the foreign Press: “I swear by the nation’s honour that Abyssinia never thought, and will never think of attacking Italy’s colonies. The Emperor thus solemnly assured King Victor and Signor Mussolini: “ Italy may continue to send troops, but as far as Abyssinia is concerned even defensive measures are unnecessary.” He pleaded that Abyssinia .be 'giv£n time to subdue the troublesome tribes.
