VICTORIAN ELECTIONS
CLOSING STAGES OF CAMPAIGN Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, February 28. (Received February 28, at 12.50 p.m.) The State elections will be held on Saturday after a particularly quiet campaign. There has been no outstanding indication that the National Ministry is likely to be refused another terra of office. Probably the most interesting development 'of the campaign has been the open declaration of war upon the Ministerial candidates by the Public Service Association, because the Premier (Sir Stanley Argyle) would not agree to promise salary restorations in full. Mr Tunned iff e (the Labour Leader) has given the required promise, and the Public Service vote may have an important effect in a few seats where the result may be close.
